Castelletto sopra Ticino is situated on the road between Dormelletto and Sesto Calende, on the border with the Lombardy, delimited from the lake Maggiore and the river Ticino. The favorable position, to the center of the streets of communication and transport between Lombardy and Piedmont, the mild climate and the wealth of the waters have favored its commercial development since the antiquity; there are numerous nautical yards.
