Meina is situated on the road between Arona and Lesa, few kilometers from last one, in a following of splendid villas with attached parks. The recovery of some archeological finds show that the town was already inhabited in the age of the bronze, subsequently it has had active role in the commerces both under the dominion of the Visconti that of the Borromeo. From the Seven hundred they were built enchanting residences among which the neoclassic Villa Pasta, bordering with the sumptuous Villa Faraggiana and finally Villa Cella, surrounded by a vast park. In May, during the famous demonstration "Meina in flower" it can be admired in the plazas, on the balconies and on the lake-front also the azaleas, typical of the parks of the great villas.
