Maccagno is situated between Luino and Pino sulla sponda del lago Maggiore, in a vast territory on the part of Lombardy coast in absolute nearer to the Piedmont coast (1.150 m). It has its historical center in Maccagno Inferiore, characteristic and dominated by the imperial tower and by the Sanctuary of the Madonnina della Punta, on the lake. In the other suburb, Maccagno Superiore, more modern, there are the town hall and the Casa Branca, with the charateristic courtyard. The two fractions are separate from the stream Giona, with its origin on the mountains of the Valveddasca and the Lake Delio, an invades artificial, the tourists' destination. Exciting the lake's view that allows to see a great part of the Verbano. The depth and the length of the beach attract a crowd of tourists, there are present hotels and campings.
