The smallest of the islands Borromee is the island San Giovanni, in which it detaches the Six hundred Borromeo's Building and residence of Arthur Toscanini until the 1952. It is positioned in front of Pallanza, near to the public port. The waters and the clear bottom around the island, in the hours of point of the summer season, attract a lot of boats and swimmers for a pleasant break.

Flanking the north side of the islet, crossing the narrow passage that connects Pallanza to the Punta della Castagnola, be careful to the swallow water, especially in the periods of drought (1), (2).

The east side can be easily recognized for the Borromeo's Building that detaches in the thick vegetation and from a small stictly private beach (1), (2); be careful in phase of navigation in the immediate proximities of the shore for the presence of submerged reef especially in the periods of drought: in every case, there is a strips pole white black, near a small statue on a rock-cliff, that advise about the danger.

The south side is characterized for the presence of a rich and dense vegetation (1), on the right it is visible partially the Borromeo's Building.

The west side is characterized by a thick vegetation (1), (2), (3), on the left it is recognizable the wall that delimits the small port of the island, strictly private; be careful in phase of navigation in the immediate proximities of the shore for the presence of submerged reef especially in the periods of drought: in every case, there is a strips pole white black that advise about the danger.
