Stresa is situated on the road between Belgirate and Baveno and it is considered the point of diamond of the lake Maggiore. It rises in privileged position, in front of the Borromeo's islands (island Madre, island Bella and Pescatori's island) in an enchanting context that attracts the attentions of the international tourism; it departs from the plaza of the Imbarcadero, near to the port, it continues on the lake-front where it's easy to get enchanted ownselves in front of the flowerings of palms and plants, to the sculptures of modern art that accompany it, to the park of the neoclassic Villa Ducale, to the majesty of the most famous hotels, continuing to reach the Lido where the scenery becomes more magic: the proximity of the Borromeo's islands to the coast seem to belong to the town. Here the it can be taken the cableway for excursions on the Mottarone. Innumerable the attractions, to visit the Nineteenth-century and really famous Villa Pallavicino with an English style's great garden full of secular trees, turned into a zoological garden and open to the public from 1956, the parish church in neoclassic style of Sant'Ambrogio, near there is the Building of the Congresses, meeting for international conferences, to confirmation of the notoriety of this place of stay.
